Greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced or even completely eliminated. This is a major challenge for the manufacturing industry, as we still too often burn fossil fuels and end-of-life products. We need to switch to circularity, using renewable or recycled materials and making recyclable products.

Climate

Our goal is to reduce emissions by 42% in 2030. This means that we will stop using fossil fuels in all our activities and strive for circularity.

Energy

Today, 43% of our energy is renewable. To further increase this share, we are continuously looking for ways to generate our own green energy. We have already built two biomass plants and have solar panels and wind turbines on several sites.

Transport

We are transitioning a significant portion of our fleet of commercial vehicles to electric, including our rolling materials.

Entire value chain

We are also striving for less CO2 beyond the confines of our company. We map out where we can reduce the impact of our raw materials and are committed to raising awareness among our customers as to our products' sustainability.

Circularity

Circularity is the best way to minimise the impact of our production. How? By reducing the need for new raw materials to a minimum.

Renewable materials

Wood is one of our most important basic raw materials. As long as you don't burn it, it acts as a CO2 store. So the longer you use and reuse wood, the better for our climate. Our priority is to keep wood in the production chain for as long as possible, until the wood fibres are too small or too polluted to be recycled. Then we will convert it into green energy in our two biomass plants.

Making materials circular

Achieving circularity for our products made from non-renewable raw materials is also a priority. We are striving for 100% recyclable products for our vinyl floors, insulation panels and carpets.
