How Unilin makes the difference.
Passion, Entrepreneurship, Excellence and Respect. That is what Unilin stands for.
These four values are what drives us to innovate, take initiative and push boundaries.
Our company consists of five divisions. Together they account for over fifteen leading brands. Although they all have their own expertise, there is one thing they have in common. The drive to push boundaries.
What started in the 1960s as a partnership between a handful of flax farmers in West Flanders developed into a successful international group. Today Unilin is a global player with a portfolio of strong brands such as Quick-Step, Pergo and Moduleo.
Unilin is part of the American publicly listed company Mohawk Industries Inc., the world’s largest flooring company. They design and manufacture hard and soft floors for residential and commercial spaces.
Unilin has achieved a world first in Bazeilles, France: for the first time, MDF and HDF boards – the core of laminate floors – can be recycled on an industrial scale. . Thanks to a €20 million investment, the company is now able to make the wood fibres from these boards reusable for the production of new decorative panels and laminate floors.
At the start of this year, both Veronique Hoflack and Bert Vandenkendelaere took on key roles within Unilin. Veronique oversees the Unilin Flooring division and Bert heads Unilin Panels. Both climbed the ranks within the organisation and know our values, our people and the market inside out. High time to get to know them a bit better. How do they view their new role and the future?
Unilin starts its conquest of Eastern Europe with a fully automated plant in Poland that will produce 8 million square metres of insulation material per year. “The market in that region is still in full flux,” says Jeroen De Temmerman, President of Unilin’s Insulation division.
